The history of Anushteginids, who ruled under the name of the State of Khorezmshahs from the end of XII to the beginning of XIII century, is considered one of the most important dynasties not only in the history of Uzbekistan but also in World History. Today there are many studies on this dynasty's social, political, and cultural life. However, in most cases, some of the problems are not solved. This article is devoted to the analysis of the Oghuz and Dasht-i Kipchak (“Steppe of the Kipchaks”) tribal confederations, which played an important role in the history of Central Asia, and their significance in the history of Khorezmshahs. The article will examine the processes in the internal politics of the state of the ruling Anushteginid Khorezmshahs in the first quarter of the 13th century, including the rivalry of state officials belonging to the Kipchak and Oghuz clans, the processes of tension between Terken-Khatun and Mohammed Khorezmshah. The factors that forced Khorezmshah to leave his country during the Mongol invasion and their reasons will also be considered. The data has been analyzed and conclusions drawn based on oriental sources and some modern literature on the period of the object of study.
