In this article, the author examined political commissions, their status, structure and the basic principles of their organization as participants in the electoral process in Uzbekistan. The author analyzed international documents and the experience of foreign countries in organizing the activities of election commissions, their functioning based on the principles of openness and transparency, as well as the formation of candidates for members of election commissions on a professionally or politically balanced basis. The article develops legislative proposals for adapting the legislation regulating the activities of election commissions in Uzbekistan to international standards.
