This article analyzes the causes and consequences of lagging of Uzbekistan behind neighboring Kazakhstan in the context of investment attractiveness. A review of the current situation highlights differences in key economic indicators, highlighting the weaknesses in the Uzbek economy. The article examines in detail the reasons for the underperformance, such as lack of diversification, bureaucratic obstacles and a limited financial sector. Particular attention is paid to the analysis of problems of the investment environment in Uzbekistan, including barriers in the form of bureaucracy and inefficiency in business processes. The article proposes a comprehensive approach to solving these problems, including economic reforms, improved legal protection and educational development. The success stories of other countries are attracting attention, providing Uzbekistan with the opportunity to learn lessons to improve its investment climate. The article concludes by discussing the importance of long-term efforts and concerted action to achieve significant progress in the areas of investment attractiveness and sustainable economic development.
