Today, ensuring participants' safety in criminal proceedings is becoming relevant in scientific research processes. Ensuring the safety of victims, witnesses, and other participants in criminal proceedings during the consideration of a criminal case allows us to carry out not only the preliminary investigation and judicial proceedings but also the process of pre-trial investigation, as well as the main functions in implementing criminal prosecution. The article discusses theoretical and scientific issues of ensuring the safety of participants in criminal proceedings at the stage of pre-trial investigation. Of course, in this process, proposals and recommendations were developed aimed at increasing the effectiveness of the use of security measures by participants in criminal proceedings.
