In modern criminal proceedings, the processes of state protection and the implementation of measures to ensure the security of the individual are considered one of the main functions of state law enforcement and judicial bodies, and in the fight against crime, they establish a balance in order to protect the rights and legitimate interests of the individual, as well as the interests of society and the state. At the same time, great importance should be attached to criminal procedural and other guarantees of the rights of persons protected in criminal proceedings. We see that the issue of ensuring the safety of participants in the criminal process is regulated in the national legislation of the Commonwealth of Independent States and within the organization. However, legal scholars point out that there are some shortcomings in ensuring the safety of the participants. In this article, the author conducted a theoretical and practical study of ensuring the safety of participants in criminal proceedings within the framework of the CIS and also put forward various proposals for the further development of this area within the organization.
