This article examines the problems of codification of private international law in legal doctrine. The opinions of collisionists – supporters of autonomous codification and opponents – have been studied. Based on the scientific analysis carried out, it was found that today the time is ripe for the transition to the next stage of codification of private international law, that is, the time for a comprehensively autonomous codification.
