The article deals with the issues of the current state of domestic and peculiarities of tourismdevelopment in Uzbekistan, factors that determine its sustainable development. By applying themethod of questionnaire survey, the aspects constraining the development of tourism and touristflow of local travelers are identified, the infrastructural components of the tourism industry areassessed. On the basis of the research conducted by the authors, proposals and recommendationsfor further development of the tourism sector as a particularly attractive form of recreation andleisure of the population are presented.
