In the modern era of accelerated information flows and the development of information and communication technologies, it is becoming increasingly difficult to convey information to the audience, create content that attracts public attention, and accurately reflect events. In particular, as a result of the undermining of the monopoly of traditional media in conveying information to the audience, the idea that only journalists own information and can convey it to the audience is being destroyed in society. As the media loses its leading position in the monopoly over information, it becomes increasingly clear that the concept that every person in society is an author is becoming more and more true. In such an era, the media are using new methods to convey information to the audience. It is becoming increasingly important for the media to take clear steps to meet the demands and desires of their target audience. This is why the weight and credibility of information appearing in regional and local news channels and media is increasing. Considering the activities of the media, especially in the regional context, allows us to understand how widely the relationship between the media and the audience is developing. That is, studying the media from a regional point of view shows that today's audience needs to be studied in several ways. The author comprehensively analyzed the activities and features of regional media and the fact that the types of media operating in Karakalpakstan have their own directions in creating content. In addition, the article analyzes the basic principles and directions of the development of regional journalism within the framework of world journalism. The author also demonstrated the requirements and principles imposed on regional media, having studied Karakalpak journalism from a regional point of view. The final part of the article describes the development of Karakalpak media today in several stages. He also tried to show the modern direction of the development of Karakalpak media through several parameters.
