This paper presents an assessment of the fatigue strength of the body structural elements of the model 61-928 baggage railcar under operational loads. The most highly loaded zones of the railcar body frame are considered. The analysis was performed taking into account the effects of vertical dynamic loads and longitudinal braking forces over the design service life. Stresses in the body elements were determined using the finite element method based on a numerical model of the railcar body. The results show that the fatigue safety factors for all analyzed zones exceed the allowable value. It is concluded that the fatigue strength of the body frame of the model 61-928 baggage railcar is ensured for a service life of 28 years.
