This article discusses the prospects for the use of instrumentation in railway transport, and also analyzes the current state of existing devices. In addition, a new method for monitoring train dimensions based on modern elements is proposed. A solution for controlling the device using a microcontroller is proposed. In this regard, an algorithm for the operation of the proposed device has been developed.
