The paper presents vibration and current signals and corresponding frequency spectra of electric motor, including damage of inner ring rolling bearing and damage of outer ring rolling bearing. An assessment of the monitoring of the technical condition of TED bearing units is given, and the feasibility of proactive diagnostics is proven, which makes it possible to identify defects in advance at the earliest stage of their development. The results were obtained using the Matlab/Simulink software environment, which allows one to analyze asymmetrical modes of variable states of bearing units of locomotive traction motors.
