This article discusses stock market development and sustainable economic development in Uzbekistan following the financial reforms initiated in 2017. It combines a descriptive review of economic developments with a case study of the Uzbekistan National Investment Fund’s dual listing. The discussion considers capital mobilization, corporate governance, disclosure and diversification of enterprise financing. The available material illustrates potential channels connecting capital markets with long-term development; it does not establish the causal effect of stock market development on GDP or provide a reproducible regression estimate. The article identifies institutional conditions under which access to domestic and international capital markets may support investment and resilience. Recommendations focus on transparent disclosure, investor protection and the development of market institutions.
