Annotatsiya

The paper addresses the medium-term forecasting of the employed population of the Samarkand region. The aim is to construct a statistically sound employment forecasting model based on the Box–Jenkins methodology, using official data of the National Statistics Committee of the Republic of Uzbekistan for 2000–2025. Comparative analysis in R identifies ARIMA(1,1,0) with drift as the preferred specification; the order of integration is confirmed by the Zivot–Andrews test, which is robust to the structural break of 2018. According to the forecast, the number of employed persons may reach 1,791.5 thousand by 2030 (95 % confidence interval: 1,621.6-1,961.4), an increase of 11.2 % over five years. As the residuals depart from normality, interval estimates are additionally obtained by bootstrap and should be treated as indicative.
