Cardiovascular diseases (CVD) ranks first in economically developed and developing countries of the world in the structure of morbidity and mortality of the population. Cardiovascular catastrophes such as acute myocardial infarction are especially dangerous because of their sudden onset, which is often accompanied by the development of life-threatening complications. The effectiveness of the bioflavonoid quercetin (corvitin) on the restoration of stannous zones of the myocardium in patients with AMI with ST segment elevation who underwent myocardial revascularization was studied. The study included 66 patients with AMI with ST segment elevation. Performing reperfusion therapy on the background of carnitine helps protect the myocardium from the development of necessary dysfunctions. In patients with ST-segment elevation AMI, reperfusion therapy helped prevent LV dilatation, but LV volume indices in patients receiving Corvitin during reperfusion therapy were significantly lower. On echocardiography a month later, LV EDV was 151.3±5.1 and 160.2±4.2 ml in the 1st and 2nd groups, respectively. The use of corvitin infusion prevented dilatation of the LV cavity, as a result of which the end-diastolic and systolic indices did not change during 30 days of observation. LV ejection fraction increased to a large extent in group 2.
