In this study, echocardiographic signs of myocardial remodeling were evaluated in patients with acute ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction, depending on the presence of obesity. 91 patients with acute ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction were included in this study. The average age of the patients was 57±7.4 years. Of the 91 patients, 64 (79%) were men and 27 (21%) were women. In patients with acute ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction and concomitant obesity, the percentage of fibrotic remodeling of the myocardium was significantly higher, which affected the severity of chronic heart failure after a year.
