This article examines the scholarly activity and legacy of Ahmad al-Saghani, a tenth-century astronomer and geometer, using medieval sources and modern studies. It analyzes his participation in astronomical observations in Baghdad, his expertise in astrolabe construction, his approach to projecting the sphere onto a plane, and his contributions to astronomical measurements. Accounts by Abu Rayhan al-Biruni and Ibn al-Qifti are compared, and the survival of treatises attributed to al-Saghani is discussed. The study highlights his role in connecting the scholarly traditions of Transoxiana and Baghdad.
