Annotatsiya

This article examines the development of students’ intercultural communicative competence in the process of teaching English as a global means of communication (English as a Lingua Franca – ELF). It discusses the concept of ELF, its role in contemporary foreign language education, and its pedagogical potential for fostering intercultural communicative competence. Furthermore, the study analyzes teaching methods and educational technologies based on communicative and competency-based approaches that contribute to developing students’ tolerance, respect for cultural diversity, effective international communication skills, and the ability to interact confidently in multicultural environments. The findings of the study provide theoretical and practical recommendations for improving English language teaching practices and enhancing students’ global competencies.
