Artificial intelligence integration in english language teaching: a comparative linguodidactic analysis of practices in China and south Korea

This article presents a comparative linguodidactic analysis of artificial intelligence integration in English language teaching in China and South Korea. Documentary analysis and comparative synthesis were used to examine policy and regulatory frameworks, models of digital integration, the development of writing and speaking skills, assessment practices, and teacher–AI collaboration. The findings show that the Chinese model places greater emphasis on adaptive diagnostics, process-oriented writing, and platform-level integration, whereas the South Korean model foregrounds interactive speaking practice, formative feedback, and human-centredpedagogical governance. Six methodological principles are proposed for specialised schools in Uzbekistan: staged implementation, a teacher-in-the-loop model, process-oriented development of productive skills, verification of automated assessment, AI literacy and academic integrity, and contextual localisation. The comparison demonstrates that sustainable AI integratio depends primarily on pedagogical alignment rather than on the adoption of any particular platform.
