Annotatsiya

The article by A.M. Baltabaeva, entitled “The Relevance of U. Hamdam’s Creative Work in the Contemporary Literary Process of Uzbekistan,” provides an overview of critical studies by contemporary literary scholars of U. Hamdam’s work. The article is systematic in nature. It analyzes critical literature on U. Hamdam’s creative work through the main categories of the artistic world of his works, thereby presenting a holistic picture of the individual poetics of this contemporary Uzbek author. The article also offers a literary analysis of U. Hamdam’s short story “A Few Words,” which reflects the leading tendencies of his creative method: mythopoetics, narrative discreteness, the duality of the hero’s consciousness, concrete object representation, and symbolic polysemy.
