This article is aimed at studying the systematic-linguistic description of hippological lexicon in English and Uzbek. The study analyzed the semantic, morphological and phraseological layers of hippological lexicon, and showed that in English there are professional and folk layers, terms related to technical and sports fields have developed. In Uzbek, the hippological lexicon is adapted to national traditions, historical layers and folk art, and professional terminology is poorly developed. The results of cross-linguistic comparative analysis show that hippological lexicon is expressed through language-specific systematics, morphological derivatives and metaphorical units.
