The impact of artificial intelligence tools on developing esp students' speaking skills: a cognitive-communicative approach

Artificial intelligence (AI) is transforming English for Specific Purposes (ESP) education by creating new opportunities for developing speaking skills through personalized practice and immediate feedback. This study investigates the impact of AI tools on ESP students' oral communication from a cognitive-communicative perspective. The findings demonstrate improvements in fluency, vocabulary use, grammatical accuracy, pronunciation awareness, and communicative confidence. The study concludes that AI is most effective as a supportive instructional tool that complements teachers' guidance and enhances autonomous language learning.
