This article analyzes Karakalpak folk legends. Historical legends have been selected as the main object of the study. The distinctive features of legends in comparison with other folklore genres are examined comparatively. The study of historical legends, as well as their ideological and thematic and artistic features, are highlighted through the analysis of several legends.
