The problem of teaching a language as a second foreign language (on the example of the Korean language)

Effective teaching of Korean as a foreign language to Russian-speaking learners requires a systematic approach that considers structural differences between Russian and Korean as well as linguistic, psychological, and communicative factors. This article examines the main methodological principles of Korean language instruction, focusing on language transfer and interference, speech skill development, communicative and didactic principles, and the teaching of pronunciation, listening, and speaking. Particular attention is given to contrastive analysis and the integration of linguistic knowledge with communicative practice. The study emphasizes the importance of systematic practice, gradual skill development, and authentic communicative situations inimproving Korean language proficiency.
