This article explores the stylistic and pragmatic representation of psycho-emotional states in the inner monologue of Lucy Snowe, the central character of Charlotte Brontë‟s novel Villette. The study focuses on the linguistic and stylistic means through which the protagonist‟s emotional tension, loneliness, alienation, anxiety, self-restraint, and inner conflict are verbalized. Particular attention is paid to metaphor, repetition, rhetorical questions, syntactic fragmentation, emotionally marked vocabulary, and other expressive devices that reflect the dynamics of Lucy‟s psychological experience. From a pragmatic perspective, the article examines how innermonologue functions not merely as a representation of private thought but also as a narrative strategy that shapes the reader‟s perception of the heroine‟s emotional world. The analysis reveals the close interaction between linguistic form, psychological meaning, and pragmatic effect in Brontë‟s construction of Lucy Snowe‟s complex inner consciousness.
