This article examines the lexical-semantic nature of gradonymy, its development in Uzbek linguistics, and its relationship withrelated phenomena such as synonymy, antonymy, hyperonymy-hyponymy, and polysemy. The study focuses on the maincharacteristics of gradonymic relations, including the gradual increase or decrease of a particular semantic feature, the sequentialand directional arrangement of linguistic units, and the relative nature of gradonymic series. The manifestations of gradonymy atdifferent language levels and its linguopoetic potential in literary, particularly poetic, texts are also discussed.
