The article examines the linguistic, psychological and translation-related manifestations of cognitive dissonance in Jojo Moyes’s Me Before You and its Uzbek translation. Semantic and pragmatic transformations are analysed through dynamic equivalence, cultural adaptation, domestication and foreignization, with particular attention to character psychology and target-reader perception.
