The article examines theoretical and methodological foundations for developing universitystudents’ creative abilities in choreography classes. It connects embodied learning, improvisation,compositional tasks, collaborative creation, and reflection. Drawing on an integrative review of danceeducation research, the study proposes a five-stage pedagogical model: Observation – Exploration –Composition – Performance – Reflection. The model balances technical mastery with imaginative thinking,musicality, meaningful transformation of national dance material, and the student’s authorial agency. Theproposed structure can support choreography teachers in designing learner-centred lessons and in assessingboth creative process and artistic result.
