The article provides a comparative and typological analysis of Uzbek Jadid literature and Azerbaijani enlightenment thought of the late 19th and early 20th centuries. It explores the ideological continuity between the key figures of both cultures and examines how their concepts of national self-awareness laid the aesthetic foundation for modern poetry, notably in the works of Erkin Vohidov.
