This article examines the history of the arrival and spread of early Christian communities in Central Asia based on written sources and archaeological evidence. The study analyzes the eastward expansion of Christianity from the Near and Middle East, the formation of the East Syriac (Nestorian) Church under the Sasanian Empire, and its extensive missionary activity. Special attention is given to the presence of Christian communities in key regions such as Merv, Sogdiana, Bactria, Semirechye, Eastern Turkestan, and Transoxiana. The role of Sogdian merchants and Turkic peoples in the dissemination of Christianity along the Silk Road is highlighted. The article also explores the religious, cultural, and social significance of Nestorian Christianity in Central Asia and traces its development up to the Mongol period.
