Annotatsiya

This article provides a historical analysis of the formation and development of road and transport infrastructure in the Kashkadarya region on the eve of Uzbekistan’s independence. It examines the condition of highways, railway networks, bridges and transport services, as well as their construction and reconstruction. The role of the road and transport system in strengthening connections between industrial enterprises, agricultural areas and settlements of the region is also discussed. Particular attention is paid to the technical, organizational and financial problems that existed in the transport sector during the final years of the Soviet period and their impact on the quality of transportation services. The study concludes that the road and transport infrastructure established on the eve of independence served as an important foundation for the subsequent socio-economic development of the region.
