This article examines communicative strategies in English and Uzbek internet discourse from a comparative linguopragmatic perspective. The study focuses on how participants organize interaction, express evaluation, establish solidarity, disagree, mitigate or intensify statements, and manage interpersonal relations in digitally mediated communication. English and Uzbek discourse samples are analysed through comparative, contextual, pragmatic, and discourse-analytical procedures, with attention to the linguistic markers through which particular communicative intentions are realized. The analysis considers both convergent and language-specific patterns in the choice, distribution, and pragmatic functioning of communicative strategies. Particular attention is paid to the influence of social distance, communicative purpose, evaluative stance, and culturally conditioned norms on online language use. The study argues that similarities between the two discourses are largely related to the interactive affordances of digital communication, whereas differences become more visible in forms of address, politeness, mitigation, emotional evaluation, and solidarity-building. The findings contribute to contrastive linguistics, pragmatics, and internet discourse studies.
