This article provides a scientific analysis of the formation, historical development, theoretical foundations, and role of composer creativity in the development of the national maqom art within Uzbek national musical culture. The study examines the characteristics of composer creativity associated with the oral tradition, its significance in maqom creation, and its contribution to the formation of national musical thinking. Based on the scholarly views of Abdurauf Fitrat, Ishaq Rajabov, Otanazar Matyoqubov, and Ravshan Yunusov, the article presents a comparative analysis of composer traditions, the historical development of the maqom system, the master–apprentice school, and the continuity of the national musical heritage. Furthermore, the specific features of the concepts of “bastakor” and “composer” and the contribution of composers to preserving and enriching the national musical culture are revealed. The research findings demonstrate that the study of composer creativity has significant theoretical and practical value for the development of the history of national music, maqom studies, preservation of traditional performance heritage, and its effective integration into modern music education. The results may serve as an important scientific basis for further research on the national composer tradition and the improvement of its theoretical foundations.
