This article offers a systematic study of the traditional musical heritage of the Karakalpak people as an integral part of Central Asian civilization, with particular attention to the arts of the jirov and the bakhshi. It discusses the socio-cultural nature of Karakalpak oral creativity, epic traditions, and their educational and spiritual role in society. The study also examines the construction, acoustic properties, historical formation, and development of the Alamoynoq dutar and the ghijjak. Its central focus is the timbral relationship between these instruments, the phenomenon of heterophony, and their artistic and aesthetic interaction in Karakalpak epic performance. The analysis shows that the combination of plucked and bowed sound, rhythmic articulation, and melodic ornamentation forms an integrated artistic system that reflects Karakalpak musical thought. The conclusions may serve as a theoretical basis for further research into the history, genre characteristics, and regional schools of Karakalpak traditional performance.
