The monograph “Life of the Sogdians in Medieval China” by the German orientalist Moritz Huber consists of an introduction, 3 chapters, a conclusion and references. The introduction provides brief information about the Sogdians, their activities on the routes of the Silk Road and in China, the history of the study of the issue under study is considered. The first chapter contains information about the Sogdians and Sogd, which are cited in Chinese sources from Shiji to Xing Tangshu. The second chapter contains information about the burials and epitaphs of the Sogdians in the eastern provinces of China, and the settlements of the Sogdians located along the Silk Road in western China. The third chapter provides a critical analysis of the political organization and legislative power, people and customs among the Sogdians in China. In the conclusion, the main findings of the study and the author’s ideas are presented.
