This literature review is devoted to the evaluation of the diagnostic capabilities of magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), particularly MRI combined with cerebral perfusion imaging. Special attention is given to the potential of MR perfusion for the differential diagnosis of post-radiation changes, including radiation necrosis, and progressive tumor growth. The review presents a comparative analysis of this technique with other highly informative neuroimaging modalities currently used in neuroradiological practice. Furthermore, the relevance of incorporating MR perfusion into comprehensive imaging protocols is discussed, and current trends in the development of this imaging technique are highlighted.
