Annotatsiya

This literature review describes the morphological characteristics of atherosclerotic plaques in the superficial femoral artery, the mechanisms underlying the development of restenosis and reocclusion during the long-term period following reconstructive surgery, and their immunohistochemical differences from primary atherosclerotic lesions. The patency of the treated arterial segment and the amputation rate are considered the traditional primary endpoints in most clinical studies evaluating the outcomes of both open revascularization and endovascular interventions. Despite the increasing number of reconstructive procedures performed on peripheral arteries, the analysis of repeat revascularization remains relatively underrepresented in the scientific literature. The review discusses the incidence of reocclusion, the outcomes of surgical treatment in patients with recurrent chronic ischemia or acute limb ischemia, and the potential role of hybrid revascularization techniques in the management of these conditions
