There are many publications in the scientific literature that reveal various aspects of myelodysplasia in children. This article presents the main publications that address the prevalence of congenital anomalies of the spine and spinal cord in pediatric populations. The scientific interpretation of the concept of "caudal myelodyplasia" is given. The purpose of the study: to provide up-to-date information on the epidemiology, origin, terminology, diagnosis and surgical treatment of caudal myelodysplasia in children. The achieved results of modern surgery indicate the existence of a number of unresolved problems in the diagnosis and treatment of caudal myelodysplasia in children, which makes this problem always relevant and in demand. Conclusion. The clinical picture of the most common clinical variants of myelodysplasia with neurogenic disorders is presented. Surgical assistance with the use of an adequate set of therapeutic and diagnostic measures can reduce significant clinical loss and improve long-term follow-up outcomes.
