Aim. To investigate the clinical value of the right ventricular Tei index and TAPSE by examining its relationshipwith the clinical characteristics of postoperative congenital heart disease patients.Material and methods. From February 2021 to September 2021, echocardiography measurements wereperformed at the Multidisciplinary Medical Center Akfa Medline for 20 patients with CHD. Patients were dividedinto 2 groups: group 1 (11 patients) - Tei index <0.5, and TAPSE is less than -2 according to Z-score (mean ≥7mm) group 2 (9 patients) - Tei index> 0.6 and TAPSE is more than -2 according to Z-score (mean <7 mm) .Results. The time of isovolumetric contraction of the right ventricle and the time of isovolumetric relaxationwere increased and Ds (duration of the S wave ) of the right ventricle were shortened in patients of group 2 incomparison with patients in group 1. The time of postoperative mechanical ventilation, aortic cross-clampingtime, central venous pressure, cardiac ICU stay and the volumes from the drainage significantly distinguishedbetween the two groups, with the shortest ventilation, aortic cross clamping time, lower central venouspressure, less ICU stay and the minimum drainage volumes were occured in patients of group 1.Conclusion. The right ventricular Tei index and TAPSE is potentially a simple, readily available, reproducibleand more sensitive indicator of right ventricular dysfunction in early postoperative period.
