When analyzing the specific performance role, performance method, purpose of expression, poetic features, structure, and rhyme of the “Yor-yor” songs related to the wedding ceremonies of the Turkic peoples, the specific and similar aspects of the genre are highlighted. The folk form of artistic expressions in wedding songs performed with the refrain “yor-yor” in Uzbeks and “jar-jar” in Kazakhs, the role of speech in the wedding ceremony, the performing skills of the performers, the characteristics of the images, and the presence of magical beliefs require a comparative typological analysis. In particular, the expression of the role and worldview of the father-in-law, mother-in-law, and sister in the family life is considered an important factor in ensuring the compositional integrity of the work. The article studies the connection between Uzbek and Kazakh yor-yor songs and other wedding ceremony songs. In particular, the occurrence of minor ceremonies within the Kazakh wedding ceremony and the content or performance role of the songs performed in them are analyzed in a comparative typological manner with similar Uzbek wedding ceremony songs.
