This article examines the theoretical, methodological, and practical aspects of improving project financingmechanisms for investment projects in commercial banks. The economic essence of project financing, its differencesfrom traditional investment lending, and risk allocation mechanisms are analyzed based on scientific sources. Financialand non-financial risks inherent in investment projects are systematized. The study proposes the implementation of cashflow-based lending, scenario analysis, financial covenants, and dynamic monitoring mechanisms. The research findingscontribute to enhancing the stability of commercial banks’ credit portfolios
