The purpose of this review is to compare the principal methods used to record centric relation (CR) during the fabrication of complete removable dentures and to assess their clinical reliability and reproducibility. A comprehensive analysis was conducted using data from contemporary clinical studies and expert consensus documents. The findings indicate that techniques such as bimanual manipulation, chin-point guidance, Gothic arch tracing, and various CR registration materials differ significantly in accuracy and consistency. Among these, bimanual manipulation is most frequently identified as the most dependable clinical approach. Standardization of clinical protocols and proper selection of recording materials are key factors for improving CR accuracy. This review highlights existing controversies and provides evidence-based recommendations for clinical practice.
