Medical therapy led to a statistically significant improvement in QoL indicators across all 8 scales of the SF-36 questionnaire, as well as the physical (PCS) and mental (MCS) health components (p<0.01 for all scales). The most pronounced improvement in QoL was observed in patients receiving genetically engineered biological drugs. Baseline disease activity and type of IBD also influenced the degree of QoL improvement. Treatment of IBD leads to a significant improvement in various aspects of patients' quality of life, which can be effectively assessed using the generic SF-36 questionnaire. This questionnaire can serve as a useful tool for monitoring patients' condition and evaluating the effectiveness of therapeutic interventions in real clinical practice.
