The article presents the results of the analysis of the nature and morphological features of damage to the structure of the head - soft tissues, skull bones, brain and its membranes in 55 children who died in an intra-cabin car injury as a result of an accident and were subjected to forensic medical examination. It was found that the nature, localization, volume and morphology of damage in an intra-cabin car injury, with the same mechanism of injury, have a certain dependence on the age categories of the injured children, which was due to the anatomical and physiological properties of the body, including the degree of development of the head structure at different ages. Damage to the soft tissues of the head, skull bones and meninges in different age categories in children had their own distinctive features. At the same time, in all age categories of deceased children, the foci of brain contusion prevailed on the side of the impact than in the opposite part of the hemispheres, which in almost all cases was accompanied by a breakthrough of blood into the ventricles of the brain. Subarachnoid hemorrhages in the cerebral hemispheres and in the brainstem in all age categories in deceased children in most cases were focal in nature. In adolescent and young adult children, the volume and severity of trauma in the structures of the head significantly prevailed over similar trauma in children of other age categories.
