In the article, the author considers the general legal nature of material liability in the Republic of Uzbekistan as an independent type of legal liability along with other types of legal liability. The concept and meaning of material responsibility in the system of labor law in the Republic of Uzbekistan is considered. The article considers cases of bringing the parties to an employment contract to financial responsibility, analyzes and considers the distinctive features of financial responsibility from civil liability. The refutation is given that the financial responsibility of the employer, employee and collective (brigade) financial responsibility are not independent types of legal responsibility.
