The article pays special attention to the study of the conflict of values in the conditions of interaction of cultures. The estimated sign of value may vary depending on which view captures the value: a look from the inside or a look from the outside. In teaching Russian as a foreign language, it is necessary to take into account the connotative semantics of vocabulary.
