CLEANING OF SALT WATER USING REVERSE OSMOSIS

This study investigates the chemical composition of groundwater samples collected from the Kungrad districtof Karakalpakstan, with a focus on the concentrations of major anions and cations. The results show that the levels ofchloride, sodium, calcium, and magnesium exceed recommended drinking water standards, indicating high salinity andhardness. Based on these findings, reverse osmosis (RO) is proposed as an effective treatment method for improvingwater quality. Laboratory-scale RO simulations suggest that this method can significantly reduce ion concentrations,making the water safe for consumption. This research highlights the importance of implementing RO technology in aridregions to ensure access to clean drinking water.
