Adhesive disease of the abdominal cavity is one of the most widespread and clinically significant problems of abdominal surgery. According to the results of various studies, the formation of adhesions after abdominal surgical procedures is observed in 67-93 percent of patients. These adhesions do not always manifest themselves immediately; they may appear years after the operation. The adhesive process underlies many complications. The most severe and dangerous among them is acute adhesive small bowel obstruction (AASBO). If this condition is not diagnosed and treated in a timely manner, it leads to a high mortality rate and also causes considerable socio-economic consequences. The relevance of the problem is connected not only with its prevalence but also with the complexity of its prevention. Despite the development of surgical technologies, the improvement of operative techniques and the appearance of new materials, the recurrence rate of adhesive disease remains high. This requires the search for the most appropriate approaches to preventing pathological adhesion formation. This, in turn, is of direct importance for reducing postoperative morbidity and mortality.
