The werther effect: psychological mechanisms of the formation of suicide epidemics

Annotatsiya

This article studies the psychological mechanisms underlying the Werther effect, a phenomenon in which literary, media or public representations of suicide stimulate imitative behavior. The study draws attention to case studies and examples, emphasizing the significance of the Werther effect in the formation of suicide epidemics. Drawing on both historical and contemporary contexts, the article identifies the factors contributing to the spread of this phenomenon and proposes preventive strategies for overcoming the negative consequences of this influence. This study is of great importance for shaping effective approaches to reducing the risk of suicide in society.
