This literature review devoted to the problem of severe traumatic brain injury in children identifies a number of unresolved and debatable issues that remain relevant in neurotraumatology. Analysis of the literature shows that, with the accumulation of clinical experience, both organizational approaches and diagnostic algorithms, as well as methods for the objective assessment of injury severity, continue to improve.
