Febrile and afebrile seizures are paroxysmal conditions commonly observed in childhood, in which metabolic and biochemical disturbances play a significant role in their pathogenesis. In particular, disruptions in the balance of microelements and electrolytes may considerably contribute to the development of seizures in children living in environmentally unfavorable regions. The present study aims to conduct a comparative analysis of the main biochemical parameters in children with febrile and afebrile seizures residing in the Aral Sea region. The results of the study revealed the importance of ion imbalance and anemic conditions in the clinical course of seizures and allowed the proposal of potential prognostic criteria.
